The Berkshires – it’s our home, it’s where we live. We love its hills and valleys, its rivers and lakes, its mill towns and villages, its seasons, its rich cultural offerings, its history…. But how do artists express their connection to this place? What essences do they celebrate or explore through their arts and crafts? Is it the great beauty of the Berkshires that they focus upon, or do they see some underlying flaws? Do they celebrate the sinuous flow of the Housatonic River or, instead, illuminate the environment damage that was done to it? Do they honor the memory of our native son, W.E.B. DuBois, or go further, to question the disparities of race and wealth of our present time and place? What is it about the Berkshires that feeds the creative spirit? Come see!
